Small group, at-risk first graders mirrored layout of learning goal scales by creating their own collaborative scale. The students collectively integrated Level 2 skills and academic vocabulary they discerned were necessary to reach their learning target during table top annotations phase of lesson.

Student groups voted and transferred information to create large scale replicas of characters from text, using the imagery from the literary elements they annotated.
